Why hello there, traveller. I’m surprised you’d return after last week’s totally terrifying group of political gifs! Perhaps you skipped that altogether and you’ve arrived from looking at the trippiest food gifs or geometric shape gifs and returned for more “Whoa, Man,” that recurring series of images, videos, and gifs that are all kinds of whoa, free of charge.

It’s October, and while the 2016 election might be enough of a horror show, we’ve got a new collection of spooky gifs that will shock you right out of your tie-dye shirt. Not trying to make you paranoid, of course, but these gifs will definitely make your spine tingle! You don’t have to make a deal with the devil for them, just promise me that your Halloween costume this year won’t be offensive. I mean it! Put down your dabbing rig for two seconds, and look me in the eye, er, webcam lens. Repeat after me: “I solemnly swear, no matter how ‘funny’ I think I’m being, not to don a sexist, racist, or homophobic Halloween costume in 2016.”

Excellent!

Now that you’ve promised not to ruin your own life on social media…onto these spooky gifs! Don’t look now, but there’s something standing right behind you!

First, you have to decide what you’re going to be. You have to get creative! And no, “sheet ghost” isn't an option.

There are tons of makeup tutorials out there! Get out of your comfort zone.

My 'faception' creepy makeup

You’re gonna wanna look good going out on the town.

Because everybody—and I mean everybody—will be watching you.

You might even meet the love of your life!

Or just someone interesting you’d like to talk to…

With a hot bod…

Who you can bring home with you for a little cuddle.

Just don’t go walking alone at night.

Halloween always brings out the weirdos.

If you do encounter a weirdo, be sure not to stare.

And make sure to lock up once you’re safe and sound. (I promise you this is not a photo, impatient traveler!)

Maybe pop on something calming, like a nature documentary!

Or light your jack-o'-lantern!

And remember what Tim Curry says: “Anything can happen on Halloween!”
