As the saturation of daily skateboard content continues to grow, the average fan is left with the bitter-sweet task of sorting through the mediocre many to find the exquisite few. Thus far, The “Atlantic Drift” series of edits has proven itself worthy of your Youtube views. Featuring its signature visual and sonic aesthetic of dreamy editing and ethereal vibrations coupled with top-notch street skateboarding, the videos have quickly become a staple in the Thrasher’s e-content repertoire.
“Atlantic Drift Episode 3” sends Tom Knox and supporting homies like Remy Taviera, Casper Brooker, Mike Arnold, Chris Jones, Sylvain Tognelli, Nick Jensen to the streets of Paris for a refreshing montage of incredibly stylish riding and intelligent cuts and b-roll. Like the ocean, and the appropriate jellyfish intro footage, this one floats hauntingly in the skateboarding psyche. It doesn’t hurt that tunes like Hante’s “Living in a French Movie” add to the already dynamic mood of it all. These seven minutes of sickness, shot by Jacob Harris, are worth every second of your attention. There’s no boredom or lag to be found. Artsy, yes, but lackluster it is not.
