After last week’s bizarre events at the RNC, Donald Trump finds himself leading in the race for the White House in two new national polls released Monday, July 25. Going head-to-head, Trump’s 48% boasts Clinton’s 45% that also translates into a 6-point convention lead for Trump. The bump is considered a significant post-convention bounce in CNN’s polling since 2000.
At this rate if the vote were held today, we would potentially see Trump as our next president. A future amid controversy over his wife, Melania Trump’s, speech, jabs at the other nominees, and announcing Indiana governor Mike Pence as his running mate at last week’s RNC.
Even statistician Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight thinks it’s not farfetched for Trump to win after releasing his Now-cast poll, which has Trump leading Clinton head-to-head by nearly 10% and has Trump winning significant swing states.
