Oregon lawmakers are considering a proposal that will speed up the time of when it’s legal for dispensaries to sell marijuana. The measure states that Oregon citizens 21 and over will be able to possess and grow legal cannabis as soon as July 1, while the Oregon Liquor Control Commission will have to wait until 2016 to launch its regulated retail market. The idea behind Measure 91 is to allow recreational cannabis shops to open closer to the time that possession becomes legal in the state, as well as figuring out how to regulate the production of marijuana.
