In Egypt, a demand has been made to review a proposal to legalize the hashish trade. The request, headed by the Cairo and Giza Tobacco Traders Association, could reportedly help the national budget deficit thanks to a large demand. With 40 to 50 million Egyptian cannabis users, the legalization could definitely become a benefit for the country. “Legalizing such a trade could contribute quickly and effectively in decreasing the national budget deficit within a few years, compared to other economic methods,” claims Osama Salama, the head of the Tobacco Traders Association.
