On Wednesday, Mass Appeal released the visuals for the Run The Jewels assisted banger “Nobody Speak” the latest video off the legendary DJ Shadow’s album, The Mountain Will Fall, released back in June.
The video is set in what one would assume is a civilized setting, a summit of some kind involving world leaders and dignitaries. The situation soon spirals out of control, as a war of words and crude insults (voiced by Killer Mike and El-P) between two representatives degenerates into a ruthless battle royale.
The satire is effective, as it exaggerates (not by THAT much…) how politics are behind closed doors. Even the title of the song itself is both a statement and a warning: you are liable to get choked if speak out against those in charge.
