In true Lil Boat fashion, the crooner laments over lost love.

Following his XXL Freshmen 2016 Cover announcement, Atlanta’s artist of the moment, Lil Yachty, has dropped off a new song for fans to devour called “Check Up”. The track appears on Kitty Cash’s project Love the Free Love III and finds Lil Yachty crooning all over a hypnotically melodic and airy instrumental.

 

As the title indicates, Lil Yachty checks in with a past lover and laments over their shortcomings as a couple.

 

Chock full of Lil Yachty’s signature auto-tuned cartoonish adlibs, “Check Up” is an ideal slow-burner for when you’re caught up in your feelings reminiscing on a lost love.
