Cannabis activist N.A Poe has organized Philadelphia’s second annual “Smoke Down Prohibition” rally for July 10th in Love Park. Poe and his supporters come together in hopes that eventually, cannabis will be removed as a Schedule I drug and instead, legalized. Additionally, they hope for the release of individuals incarcerated for possession. On a smaller scale, the event has been arranged to help pass a medical cannabis bill in Philadelphia.

The event is being followed by a march starting at 5 o’clock that will lead cannabis supporters to the office of Governor Wolf’s office.  N.A Poe, looking to advertise the event, turned to a friend within the LGBTQ community, to join his fight. Carl Max, otherwise known as Weedy Houston, praises cannabis to the tune of Houston’s “Greatest Love of All,” while roaming the streets of Philly in the video below.

The music video, even though a comical advertisement for the event, aims to bring people of every lifestyle to the park in support. “We want want to take people out of the cannabis closet. You don’t have to smoke marijuana to support this,” Poe says of the event. Check out the video below and, if you are in or around Philadelphia on the 10th, come to Love Park to support change!
