It looks like Steph Curry just can’t catch a break. Ever since his Under Armour Curry 2 Lows caught some serious heat on the Twitterverse last week, this year’s unanimous NBA MVP has been taking some serious L’s on and off the court.
Where to begin? The Warriors have now lost 2 straight and allowed the Cleveland Cavaliers to even the series at 3 games apiece, with the deciding Game 7 going down on Sunday. Curry has not performed like his usual stellar self at all in these Finals. And if that isn’t enough, last night he was ejected from Game 6 and hurled his mouthpiece in frustration only to have it smack a fan in the face, accidentally of course.
But wait, it does, in fact, get worse. Following the straight roast fest of the UA Curry 2 Low, critics are back to talking some serious trash over Under Armour’s release of a new Curry t-shirt. The shirt features the word “UNANIMOUS” and shows the MVP’s likeness throughout the graphic. Internet lurkers couldn’t help but criticize the shirt since he’s underwhelmed on the sport’s biggest stage.
It’s a convenient time to hate on Curry, arguably the best basketball player on the planet right now, because of his winning ways and his shortcomings in these NBA Finals. But, the best way for Curry to silence his haters is simple: he must win Game 7. Sunday promises a historic battle for basketball supremacy. Until then, check out Under Armour’s “Unanimous” tee that people really hate right now, available here.
