What is there to say about a motley crew of young skateboarders and friends that also moonlight as creatives, videographers, designers, musicians, artists, habitual line-steppers and derelicts? Not much besides that anything can happen at any time. This, in a nutshell, is the 24/7 world of Illegal Civilization (IC).
Seeds of the original Odd Future a.k.a. OFWGKTA genesis, filmer/founder Mikey Alfred and cohorts have catapulted their circle of homies and antics into modern day cult status with everything from IC merchandise, collaborations, and now the latest addition to an incredible trilogy of highly entertaining skateboarding movies, “Illegal Civilization 3”.
According to a new three-minute promo, IC3 is slated to premiere on Viceland very soon and it appears that the tried and true formula of candid skateboarding and humor hasn’t changed much. If anything, capturing it seems to have gotten even better, with cameos by the likes of Lil Wayne, YG and more.
If the Grandmaster Flash score of “White Lines” is any indicator of things to come—not to mention tre flips down 12-stairs, as well as all kinds of other hammers and hijinks—you’ll want to keep an eye out for what’s in store. Chances are that it’ll be as wacky and memorable as the first two installments.
