The German sneakerheads at Overkill have just unveiled a very special and ultra-limited iteration of the popular adidas NMD running sneakers, which are being made available only to their “friends and families.” The sneaker, which is being called the “Firestarter”, is limited to a run of just 300 pairs, potentially making it the most limited edition sneaker in adidas (or any major sneaker brand) history.
The Firestarter is designed with a black-and-white Primeknit that wraps around the top of the foot, as well as a matching white outsole beneath. The bright red-orange stripe on the outsole, which is where the sneaker gets its name from, seems to be inspired by the German sneaker specialist Solebox, which adidas has collaborated with in the past on the Solebox x adidas Consortium Ultra Boost Uncaged.
Although the everyday sneaker lovers who are on the outskirts of the Overkill ‘family and friends’ group will have almost zero chance to get their hands on these limited edition sneakers, we can still try to appreciate the sleek black-and-white design and fiery outsole from outside the family circle.
