Sampha’s music has been sampled by many including Drake, and the crooner was even pulled for a feature on a mysterious Kanye West track titled “Saint Pablo”.
Sampha took to Facebook and Twitter to share a personal message with supporters and fans, saying:
“It’s been a while. I’ve had a lot to process these past couple of years, as we all do. And it’s hard to articulate sometimes. I wanted to say thank you to all the people who’ve shown me so much love and support. I’m looking forward to sharing my music with you again.”
After releasing the note to fans, the singer followed up the gesture by releasing a new track titled “Timmy’s Prayer”. The track is reminiscent of ’90s R&B, but breaks into elements that take the track into the future. All of the production is heightened by Sampha’s lyrics which speak on trying to figure out where he should go after messing up badly. Listen below.
