The New England Patriots came back from a 25-point 3rd quarter deficit to defeat the Atlanta Falcons, 34-28, in the first Super Bowl to be played in overtime.

As a result of engineering the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history, Tom Brady won his fifth Super Bowl as starting quarterback (a record) and fourth Super Bowl MVP (also a record).

After falling behind 28-3 in the third quarter, the Patriots impressively scored 31 unanswered points in the final 21 minutes of game time.

Running back James White contributed to the comeback with a touchdown catch, a touchdown run in regulation and the game-winning touchdown run in overtime, and wide receiver Julian Edelman made possibly the biggest contribution with a miracle diving fingertip catch amidst three Falcons.

The Patriots' defense also made a vital contribution by pushing the Falcons back after a 27-yard completion to Julio Jones late in the fourth quarter put the Falcons in position to clinch the game with a field goal. Instead, the Falcons were sacked, penalized and forced to punt. The Pats even missed an extra point and failed to recover an onside kick during the comeback,

Brady finished 43/62 for a Super Bowl record 466 passing yards, and two touchdowns that balanced out his one interception, which was returned for a touchdown by the Falcons.

Before the historic collapse, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was on his way to being game MVP. Ryan ended up 17/23 for 284 passing yards and two touchdowns while leading an offense that completely dominated the Patriots for 2/3 of the game.

In between the game of two halves was a halftime show from Lady Gag that featured the singer beginning her performance on top of NRG Stadium before being brought down to the stage on cables. She proceeded to go through her greatest hits in a variety of different outfits before exiting the stage with a mic drop and stage jump.

The performance has been meet with praise and a consensus that it was a very fun show that didn't involve politics and wasn't controversial. This could be seen as a change for a music artist that hasn't been a stranger to controversy during her career.

On the biggest stage possible, Gaga definitely made it count.
