This week, a Canadian cannabis company received the stock ticker equivalent of the #rarest novelty license plate, as Weekend Unlimited officially laid claim to the symbol POT on the Canadian Stock Exchange. Previously, the company\u2019s ticker was YOLO \u2014 and, no, we\u2019re not joking.<\/p>\n
According to Yahoo Finance<\/em><\/u><\/a>, the symbol was so desirable that the Canadian Securities Exchange held a \u201crandom lottery\u201d on Wednesday \u2014 the first of its kind \u2014 to figure out who would nab the coveted three letters. And now that the symbol has been doled out, it\u2019s exclusive to Weekend Unlimited and cannot be transferred to another company. <\/p>\n \u201cWeekend Unlimited (YOLO) is thrilled to add the iconic POT trading symbol to its identity,\u201d CEO Paul Chu said in a statement.<\/u><\/a> \u201cThe POT symbol is a tremendous fit with our brand identity.\u201d<\/p>\n
