A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away… actually, the year was 1978, the galaxy was a CBS Sunday night timeslot and the sponsor was General Motors. The movie was a moderately budgeted and was all but a forgotten "Star Wars Holiday Special," Yes, it was bad. So bad, in fact, that George Lucas fought very hard surpress the film. He once said at a Star Wars convention, “If I had the time and a sledgehammer, I would track down every copy of that show and smash it.” This thing stars the entire original cast: Harrison Ford, Peter Mayhew, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, James Earl Jones and even has special appearances by Bea Arthur and Jefferson Starship (naturally).

As legand has it, of the Nielsen Media reported 13 million people who watched this campy classic, a few of them recorded it to their VCRs. That tape was then dubbed and re-dubbed and passed around and screened at parties. Much in the way that "Winnebago Man" had become a cult classic, the Star Wars Holiday Special too now lives in stoner infamy. Leave it to the cannabis community of the 1980's to attach themselves to this so-bad-its-good movie.

If you haven't seen this hilarious special, today is your lucky day. For our Christmas present to you we tracked down a few of the last remaining links that seem to still be awaiting a Disney take down order. Light up and enjoy!
