Workers Discover Secret Marijuana Farm at Legoland UK

Someone has been planning a different sort of amusement park.

Workmen searching for asbestos at Legoland Windsor discovered something much more interesting – a marijuana growroom with as many as 50 plants. The growroom was housed inside an abandoned cottage on the theme park's 215-acre estate, but since it is located outside of the theme park's walls, it is unlikely that a tourist or child would have stumbled onto the secret operation. Within that cottage, workmen discovered 3' tall pot plants, along with lights and watering equipment.

“Thames Valley Police officers were called at about 11.15 am today following reports that cannabis had been found at a property in the Legoland grounds in Windsor,” a police spokesman said. “Officers are currently at the site where cannabis plants and equipment used in the production of cannabis has been located. A 40-year-old man from Windsor and a 34-year-old man from Burnham have been arrested on suspicion of producing a class B drug (cannabis).”

The two suspects are out on bail until the end of the month. Anyone convicted of supplying or producing marijuana in the UK could face up to 14 years in prison, an unlimited fine, or both.
