The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are only two games into the NBA’s most anticipated Finals matchup in decades, but things are already looking pretty grim for LeBron James and the Cavs. The Warriors’ addition of Kevin Durant and a healthy Steph Curry have so-far proved too much for last year’s champs, and apparently, someone in the visitors locker room at Oakland’s Oracle Arena may have needed some immediate pain relief of the herbal variety after last night’s Game 2 beatdown.

According to ESPN reporter Mike Wise, the Cavaliers locker room reeked of weed in the hours following the team’s 132-113 loss.

Now, to be fair, there are a lot of bodies moving around behind the scenes of the NBA Finals and in the Bay Area, any cameraman, reporter, stadium security guard or ball boy could have had an eighth in their pocket, but with the stench described by Wise, it certainly sounds like someone was smoking away the agony of defeat – and we’re here to wildly speculate about who that could be.

Despite the blowouts in games one and two, the Warriors and Cavaliers have some interestingly similar line-ups. They both have point guards with absurd ball-handling skills who can finish at the rim in Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving, two all-time great small forwards in LeBron and Durant and of course, two sharp shooting off-guards who love to get stoned.

Klay Thompson and J.R. Smith have both been suspended for cannabis use in the past, Thompson while playing for Washington State in college and Smith while playing for the New York Knicks in 2013. Considering the smell came from the Cavs’ side of the arena and the fact that Smith had a 0-2 shooting night with zero points, we’re gonna go out on a limb and guess that J.R. was the one chiefing.

After all, Smith has never been shy about his love for mary jane. When he was asked by reporters from GQ how he felt about Ohio knocking down a bid for legalization in 2015, Cleveland’s favorite trash-talking 3-ball specialist had this to say; “Man, if you'd passed it, I wouldn't have to leave in the off-season!”

Considering the Cavs and Dubs are the last two teams standing, it’s pretty safe to say that league-wide drug testing is over for the season, so no matter who it was, we’re guessing they won’t stop smoking until training camp starts next year – and the way this series is going they might need some really, really strong bud.
