In the early hours of March 26, 2025, a cannabis dispensary in Chicago’s Jefferson Park neighborhood became the target of a crash-and-grab burglary attempt. At approximately 2 a.m., an SUV was driven into the front of the Cannabist Dispensary, located at 4758 N. Milwaukee Ave., causing significant damage to the storefront.
Incident Details
Chicago Police Department officers responded to a burglar alarm at the dispensary shortly after the incident occurred. Upon arrival, they discovered the vehicle lodged in the building’s front window. Preliminary assessments indicated that the storage area containing cannabis products remained secure, and there was no immediate evidence of stolen merchandise or cash.
Investigation and Response
As of Wednesday morning, no suspects were in custody. Area 5 detectives have initiated an investigation into the attempted burglary, reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence to identify those responsible. The dispensary has not released an official statement regarding the incident.
