The Kills Drop New Video For “Impossible Tracks”

An abandoned amusement park provides a dizzying setting.

Domino Records’ bluesy rock duo The Kills released their fifth record this past June, Ash &  Ice, following Keep On Your Mean Side, No Wow, Midnight Boom and Blood Pressures.

One of the standout tracks is (ironically) “Impossible Tracks,” which follows the first three singles “Heart Of A Dog,” “Doing It To Death,” and “Siberian Nights." It somehow manages to sound raw and foreboding despite some sultry vocals from Alison Mossheart. Jamie Hince also provides some backup harmonies that compliment Alison's superbly, along with some crunching guitar riffs.

The video, directed by Ellis Bahl, stars both Mossheart and Hince, as they ride fast and spinning attractions in Melbourne’s Luna Park amusement park. They are the only people seen on screen: the park looks hauntingly abandoned. The carnivalesque environment is rendered all the more real thanks to gritty camerawork, giving Alison and Jamie’s escapades a journalistic tint.

Watch the video here and try to hit up Six Flags before the season is over!
