You may not know the Atlantic singer-songwriter PJ just yet, but you can rest assured that some of your favorite musicians and artists have probably worked with her in the past. The esteemed singer has been a songwriter for Ty Dolla $ign, Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, R, Kelly, Meek Mill, and B.o.B., and has also received Twitter acclaim from the likes of Common and Diddy. Now, PJ is stepping out from behind the scenes and into the spotlight as a singer, and is currently prepping for the release of her upcoming EP, RARE

Coming off of her 2015 EP, Walking Around Pools, PJ has emerged with a new track that is sure to make your summer playlist even more fire. On her new track, which is called “Cold”, upbeat tempo and radiant percussion instantly trigger your head into a contagious nod. Suddenly, PJ’s smooth and cool voice begins dancing around the quick-witted drums. The chorus of the track is lifted by luscious “ohs” and yeahs”, as well as a catchy funk-infused horn section and vibrant piano progression. The track seems to hint that, despite her challenges as a singer-songwriter, PJ refuses not to be acknowledged. As she sings valiantly in her new track “Cold”, “you can’t stop what’s ice cold."

PJ will be opening up for the American R&B singer K. Michelle on her upcoming national tour, and will be releasing her new EP Rare everywhere on July 15. Until then, you can check vibe out to her track “Cold” via Soundcloud.
