Beck Wows In New “Wow” Video

Giddy up!

by Hadrien Turner

In 2014, Beck released his 12th studio album Morning Phase, which subsequently went on to win the Grammy for Album of The Year. He’s been relatively quiet since then on the solo front (he’s collaborated with numerous other artists in the meantime,) having only released last year’s single “Dreams” until quite recently.

He intitally released the single “Wow,” back in June through a trippy animated lyric video, which fits the upbeat hip-hop and funk influenced track to a tee. He has now released another video for the single, this time live action, that is still as mesmerizing as the first.

Partly Western inspired (peep Beck’s all black cowboy getup that he shakes his body to entertainingly between traffic), it also incorporates a variety of phantasmagoric dance scenes and seemingly unrelated footage including shots of animals and colorful Koosh Balls. It even features his children Cosimo and Tuesday dancing up a storm.

The title of his upcoming album is yet to be announced, but it will be releasing on Capitol Records October 21st.  It will include both “Dreams” and “Wow.” Watch “Wow” here and allow it to brighten up your Hump Day in a big way.
