ILoveMakonnen recently dropped a track called “Sound Like Who” which features an eerie 808-driven beat to back up the question the rapper is posing.
On the song, Makonnen ponders how many of the new rappers sound familiar, saying they basically want to sound like him and do what he does. He also mentions that most of these rappers are willing to sound like the next person, even going as far as mentioning all kinds of fictional weight they push and weapons they use.
Now, the Atlanta rapper has brought along a few others for the remix to the amped up Danny Wolf-produced track. The song starts off with Makonnen’s verse from the original track, then goes into new up-and-comer Lil Yachty’s verse which expands on what Makonnen is saying. Lil Yachty mentions how rappers are quick to speak on what diamonds they have, but don’t have a pot to piss in.
That statement can apply to many rappers right now.
From there, we get a divided verse from three members of a group called Larry League, who makes sure to heighten the intensity of the track with their deliveries.
