It’s been about a year now since the Hampton, Virginia-based hip hop artist and singer Shelley Marshaun Massenburg-Smith (known by his stage name D.R.A.M.) broke out onto the scene with his hit song “Cha Cha”, and the light-hearted entertainer has shown no signs of slowing down ever since.

After dropping a live EP, entitled Live at the Milk Jam Room, and teaming up with up-and-coming rapper Lil Yachty on the breakout song “Broccoli”, D.R.A.M. (which stands for Does. Real. Ass. Music) is getting sentimental on his latest single “CUTE”.

On his newest track, which was produced by Charlie Heat, Big Baby D.R.A.M. serenades all of those cute ladies flexing on his Instagram feed. Singing softly over the bumping bass-heavy and trap-infused beat, D.R.A.M. discusses all of the things he’s prepared to do for the woman he has his eyes and heart set on. All in all, the song is a modern love song that all of us romantics can relate to as we scroll through our Instagram feed or swipe through Tinder.

“I just had to park my car cause I was finna crash the whip/Scrolling through my feed I saw you just had post a pic/I choose you like a Pokémon/I choose you, you're selection one,” D.R.A.M. sings on “CUTE”.

With just a mixtape and EP under his belt throughout his brief, yet prominent career, D.R.A.M.’s long awaited studio debut album, which is still unannounced, is sure to have some lovely anthems for the softer side of the hip hop community.
