Kanye West’s recording process on The Life of Pablo included several tracks being constantly reworked, the new versions surfacing on a regular basis even after the album was already out. That is why he called it a piece of art that will continue to be updated as he sees fit.
Today, a very early version of “Famous” leaked, and it features a very different tempo than the version that ended up making the album cut. It also heavily features Young Thug, who goes back and forth with West on the track before closing it out. Clearly, this is prior to Swizz Beatz and Rihanna contributing to the finished (if it ever really will be…) product. But it’s fun to hear what could’ve been, and some excess Yeezy shit talk at its finest is always a delight.
