Electronic music fans rejoice, they’re finally back. The French Grammy-award winning electronic duo Justice is back with their first song in five years. Way before the recent hiatus, members Gaspard Michel Andre Augé and Xavier de Rosnay took the house music scene by storm with their 2007 debut album, † (Cross). Following that, Justice went on to release the album Audio, Video, Disco in 2011, along with a couple of live concert documentaries after each of their two albums.

Since then, we haven’t heard much from dance-powered group, until this week that is. Justice’s newest track, “Safe and Sound”, was aired this week on BBC Radio 1, and showcased a return to form for the elusive electronic duo. The song was initially premiered during Ed Banger head Pedro Winter’s (aka Busy P) DJ set at the Spain-based festival Sónar, and is now available for all to feast upon.

The song starts with the spacey synth and light-hearted choir-like vocals reminiscent of the genre-shattering sounds that Justice created almost a decade ago. Suddenly, a funk-heavy slap bass and dance-infused drumbeat appears and carries the 6 minute dance track to completion.

Ultimately, you can find hints of both Cross and Audio, Video, Disco in the new track. “Safe and Sound” is the first song released for their upcoming album, which they officially started working on in 2014. It’s been a long wait for Justice fans, but the new track should rekindle their spirits, and give hope that the new album—which has yet to be given a release date—will arrive soon.
