Amidst the recent tragedies involving police shootings and African Americans across the country, many hip-hop artists have come forward to express their sentiments on the matter. Most recently, rapper Curren$y has added his voice to the conversation with the release of “Good Cop, Bad Cop”. The track sees Spitta lament over the violence by sampling Erykah Badu’s “Other Side of the Game”, in which he recounts an instance when he was pulled over by a Baton Rouge police officer. Although things went smoothly and the rapper got away clean, he wonders what could’ve been considering the murder of Alton Sterling that occurred in his own hometown.
