For many people, when it comes to edibles, the classic pot brownie usually enters their imagination. It’s chocolatey, it’s delicious and it’s a super boring way to consume cannabis-infused goods when there are so many other options out there.

In fact, there’s a whole world of cannabis cuisine, where chefs are creating beautiful culinary masterpieces using cannabis-infused ingredients.

While you may not be Top Chef status, if you’re into preparing your own treats and have access to cannabis butter, olive oil or coconut oil, try out some of these suggestions to shake things up a little bit and change up your edibles routine. Just make sure you find out the suggested amount before indulging.

Salad Dressing

Most salad dressings begin with an olive oil base, so you’ll find it pretty easy to find a recipe that fits your needs. The fun part will be picking out the additional ingredients you want to compliment your canna-oil. You can keep it basic with a standard vinaigrette made with olive oil and vinegar mixture or get fancy with some of your favorite flavor additions.

Fudge

If you love chocolate but want a break from the brownies, fudge is a good way to get your cocoa fix without falling back on your go-to dessert. You can also try something fun and make different types of fudge like peppermint, peanut butter or toffee.

Pancakes

Three things are true about pancakes. They are light, fluffy, and heavenly with a side of maple syrup. You can go either way with this breakfast favorite—whether you want to put some cannabis butter on top, include cannabis coconut oil in the batter or do both—it’s really your world.

Grilled Cheese

Forget mixing, stirring or blending with this suggestion. Grilled cheese is the easiest faux meal to make that is still a beloved favorite of certain kinds of adults who still like to keep it simple. Put the cannabis butter directly in a saute pan, heat it up until it melts and use it just like you would normally use butter to toast the outside of your sandwich to golden perfection.

Quesadilla

Just like the grilled cheese sandwich, cannabis butter can be used in a sauté pan to toast the outside of a tortilla while the insides melt to delicious cheesy goo. It’s your choice whether to go light or heavy with the butter, but keep in mind that the more you use, the less quesadillas you’ll be able to eat in a row.

Macaroni and Cheese

Try something different with this American comfort food and kitchen staple by making a creamy sauce by mixing melted cannabutter together with cheese before adding in cooked macaroni noodles. Then throw it in the oven to bake it a little more before devouring the goodness.

Sauces

The possibilities are endless when it comes to making sauces. Try simple sauces like garlic herb butter or pesto made to cannabis olive. You can also make marinara, enchilada sauce or any other oil-based sauce that would work on pasta, pizza or find the recipe for your favorite dipping sauce.

Cookies

You can get creative here or keep it simple.  Try chunky chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles, or peanut butter cookies for starters. Then, once you perfect your craft, you can move on to some more interesting flavors by doing some research to see which flavors will compliment cannabis.
