You’ve seen Snoop educate us on the animal world, make bold predictions about the future, Aand even enter the ring with Hulk Hogan. Now, it’s time for Snoop to cook for friends with one of the most influential women in American business: Martha Stewart.

A new VH1 reality show, tentatively titled Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party, features Stewart and Snoop cooking for friends. Stewart called the show a “redesign” of traditional cooking competition programs.

“At our dinner party, we will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining, and celebrity,” Stewart explained.

Snoop has a slightly different take: “My homegirl Martha and I have a special bond that goes back,” said the rapper, whose new album, Coolaid, came out earlier this summer. “We’re gonna be cooking, drinking, and having a good time with our exclusive friends.”

The series is produced by Stewart and Kim MIller Olko for Sequential Brands Group; Snoop Dogg and Ted Chung for MERRY JANE; and SallyAnn Salsano for 495 Productions, creators of Jersey Shore. Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party is unscripted, so there will likely be many unexpected, comedic moments.

Although this is the duo’s first co-starring appearance, it is not the first time Stewart and Snoop, who appeared together on Comedy Central to roast Justin Bieber, have entered into a kitchen together. Back in 2008, Snoop appeared on The Martha Stewart Show to make mashed potatoes and “secret” weed Brownies.

“Oh, you want me to take the skizz’in off it?” Snoop says after misunderstanding Martha’s instructions multiple times to peel the potato. As the cooking progresses, Snoop remarks: “Man, this smells good! What is this again?”

Stewart reminds the rapper: “It’s mashed potatoes.”

In a different episode, Stewart asks Snoop why he wanted to make green-themed brownies.

“Green is environmental,” Snoop ripostes.

While making the brownies, Emmy-award winning Stewart asks Snoop to rap, so Snoop freestyles: “We’re trying to bake some brownies/but we’re missing the most important part of the brownies.” Stewart asks what that is.

“No sticks, no stems,” Snoop replies. “The greener the better.” When Stewart preheats the oven to 350°, Snoop laments, “Why not 420°?”

Although the press materials for the series don’t allude to the sweeping changes to the cannabis landscape in the U.S. since Stewart prepared dishes on television from 1993–2011, one can expect that when these two get together for a cooking show, there might be occasion to make some bud-laced edibles.
