Mmmm, doughnuts. These glazed gluttony fixes are the perfect solution for those high time munchies. Who knew how great fried dough with a hole could really be? Now, this timeless snack can satisfy your munchies in more ways than one. If you love doughnuts – and let’s be real, who doesn’t – you’ll go nuts over the twists on the classic sweets that NYC has to offer.

1. Queens Comfort

If you're Astoria bound, stroll to Queens Comfort for a takeout goodie that makes even your most wild sweet tooth fantasies come true. With the help of specialty doughnut chef Montana B., she creates topping-adorned doughnuts with everything from Cap’n Crunch to Fruity Pebbles, Cracker Jacks to Nutella and so much more, all on a doughnut!

2. Dough

If your appetite is begging for some consolation, Brooklyn’s Dough is here to help. Known for their large yeasted doughnuts, Dough has become one of the most popular Donuts Shops in NYC. Dough keeps it healthy by sourcing organic ingredients and natural flavors such as Hibiscus, Passion Fruit and Lemon Ginger. If you’re feeling daring, try the Tropical Chili Doughnut, made with mango, papaya, guava and pineapple glaze, topped with a hint of authentic chili.

3. Flex Mussels

Flex Mussels is home of the Flex Doughnuts, which once had a steady run as a pop-up vendor at the Grand Central Terminal which sadly closed in 2012. No worries though, because their doughnut legacy still lives. You can order a sweet selection of doughnuts from Flex like the Fluffernutter, PB&J and Smores. If you’re yearning for something a little different, try their savory doughnut blends like bacon, egg and cheese or an everything bagel doughnut filled with scallion cream cheese.

Lower East Side’s golden treasure of doughnuts is great for a mid-day noshie, particularly if you’re looking for a little pleasure without a side of guilt. Doughnut Plant makes doughnuts with no trans fat, eggs, preservatives or artificial flavorings and colors, all alongside homemade jelly filling. These airy and light yeast doughnuts are quite the surprise. Try one of their popular flavors, the Tres Leches doughnut, if you know what’s good for you. If your chocolate cravings are out of control, try the blackout doughnut, which has a chocolate pudding filling and a dusting of cake crumbs.

5. Donut Pub

Head to 14th street’s Donut Pub for your late night fix of doughnuts. Bacon lover? A must try is their glazed maple bacon cronut, a donut-croissant combo that is topped with honey maple bacon. If you prefer your glass of milk with chocolate and caramel, pick up a salted caramel cronut, which will be sure to satisfy your cravings.
