Why would someone choose something fake over the real thing? Well, it happens for a variety of reasons. The artificial option could be cheaper or more widely accessible, or the consumer may not see another choice. These reasons ring true for cannabis and its synthetic counterpart, Spice. 

Spice, also known as K2, was developed by a Clemson University professor in the 1980s, who did not recommend its use. He even called synthetic marijuana users “idiots.” But, for addicts who are looking for a high and are low on money, Spice is a cheap and readily available alternative that comes with serious health risks.
