@WhereYouSmoke sprouted in a moment shared between a spliff and the great outdoors. Run by an anonymous artist who grew up in LA, the Instagram account and online platform celebrates cannabis lovers who like to light up alongside Mother Nature.

Each week, we've asked @WhereYouSmoke to share a few favorite Instagram uploads with MERRY JANE, and so far it's been nothing but picturesque snaps and chill-ass stories to boot.

For this week's edition of our photo column, we're featuring stoners who spent some time in 2017 lighting up in adult Disneyland, aka stoner heaven, aka ye olde Amsterdam. Before we dive into some interviews, @WhereYouSmoke had this anecdote to share:

Amsterdam is without a doubt one of my favorite cities I've ever visited. I've been twice, and each time I find myself understanding the full scope of the word "breathtaking." Around every corner is a different flowing canal, a stunning piece of architecture, a coffee shop with clouds of sweet smoke billowing out of the doorways, a bakery housing treats unseen anywhere else.

On my first trip there, I got so lit, I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was late at night, so I was deep into my high. We'd spent the day meandering the city––it's a very small town, so we managed to circle it in its entirety twice before we made our way into a smoke shop. We had bud, but we'd run out of papers. As I walked into the shop, the overhead lights were so bright, I started to feel dizzy––not in a bad way, but as if my head were truly in the clouds.

In my stoned reverie, I took about 15 minutes perusing the endless array of maryjane paraphernalia. After all of that, I (of course) stuck with my good old king-size Raws, and walked out with a few packs. My friend who was with me suggested we grab a beer and sit by the water, enjoying a few final spliffs before heading in for the night.

The next morning I awoke ready to start the new day. Slowly the day before started coming back to me––the pastries, the canals, the calming day exploring such a beautiful town. Then, I remembered the trip to the smoke shop. I kid you not, to this day, that whole moment is upside-down in my memory. Like, completely and utterly upside-down. It was and still is totally wild to me––I've never had that happen. I was so faded, I literally stored the memory as upside-down in my mind. Needless to say, Amsterdam is one hell of a place.

All interviews have been edited for length and clarity.

I took this photo from my apartment on August 6th enjoying a joint while the sun was setting over the canals and buildings.

What's the most beautiful place you light up in your city?
The most beautiful place in Amsterdam that I've smoked was at the Cannabis Liberation Celebration at Flevopark on June 11th. Beautiful people. Beautiful vibes. Beautiful festival. We need more days like this where everyone unites to celebrate and smoke.

What's it light to blaze out there?
Although it's not completely legal, I feel very liberated. I'm able to walk around smoking a joint with no trouble in the heart of Amsterdam. I also enjoy going to the parks to blaze. The coffeeshops are a really cool place to chill, grab a drink and roll a couple of joints, maybe an extra joint or two for the walk outside. Chilling at the parks or canalside is cool, but not so good for rolling on a windy day. The most fun I had while faded was when I first got to Amsterdam during Christmas and New Year's Eve and seeing all the celebrations in the streets.

The picture was taken at the was the oosterdok canal right outside the Nemo Science Museum. We walked to the museum and had a look around, it was very bizarre so I came out needing a joint, haha! The most beautiful place I smoked was by the canal. It was so nice to just sit there and watch the world go by with no cares.

What was it that made smoking at the canals so great?
I enjoyed smoking outside more because I could sit there in my own little world, it was nice to breathe the fresh air and watch the beautiful city go by. The nature definitely enhanced my high it was nice seeing baby ducks whilst chilling.

What are the other blazers out there like?
The only other "blazers" I saw were ones in coffee shops, the culture was so different to the culture in the U.K. Not once did I see a clothing shop, I only saw one supermarket and it was like every part of Amsterdam was a different place! I.e. The Red Light District was a whole new town! It was weird!

How did you feel about the weed culture?
The weed culture was different, there was plenty to choose from, grams, pre-rolled etc., and the staff were so friendly and would help you buy the correct weed for the correct high – they even let you take free papers and use grinders!

What was your prefered way to get lifted while you're there?
I smoke joints. I have smoked bongs before, generally, but I prefer joints as I feel it affects me more, it's easier to smoke if out in public and I can just chill. All I have to do is put my hand up to my face whereas if you have a bong you have to hold it and light it, ha.

This photo was taken on the back porch of the house I was staying at in Amsterdam. The house was in a quiet area about 6 miles away from the city and the backyard was covered all around it with plants, trees, and flowers. It was where I was staying for the duration of my vacation. It was gloomy and cold, my favorite weather to smoke in.

Where's a place you love to spark up?
The dopest place I've ever smoked would absolutely be the streets of Amsterdam. It was so peaceful wandering around and exploring with a joint in hand. But the funniest story I have was when I was in high school and I had my first edible. My friends and I all shared a muffin from a club – a friend's older brother brought it from in Santa Barbara. We ate it at lunch, and 45 minutes into the next class it hit me… hard! My whole body went numb and I was convinced the teacher knew. So I'm sitting in class trying to figure out the best escape route. Well, I couldn't figure one out so I just sat there until the bell rang. The best part was I didn't think it was the muffin, so I was in a sheer panic for the entire period. Once I figured out it was the edible, all things were calm and I ended up going prom dress shopping after and bought a bright red dress with a bow on it.

What do you enjoy about being faded out in nature?
Smoking in nature is the absolute best. I love going on hikes and at the end smoking a joint and just enjoying the views and the wind on my face. Amsterdam itself is mostly brick and cobble stone. But I did get a chance to hit the North Sea and it was beautiful! Being around different elements was badass.

Everyone assumes weed is totally legal there… Were you able to smoke anywhere you wanted?
Interestingly, it's actually completely illegal! The law itself says weed is illegal. They just don't care there. I think the money it brings in is more lucrative than trying to crack down on the coffee shops. But being able to spark up whenever and wherever was so freeing. At first, I was sketched out looking for cops, but just kept reminding myself they don't care! My favorite part was after a long day of taking in all the city had to offer, taking the long walk home and smoking whatever joint I bought from a shop that day. It was the most relaxing.
