Following a six year hiatus, VH1’s Hip Hop Honors will be returning to airwaves tonight. Taking place in New York, this year’s edition will be paying special tribute to some of the most influential females of the genre, including rap queens Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa, and Lil’ Kim. Each of the four aforementioned artists will be paid special tribute via performances from some of the biggest names in music today.

Reportedly, Missy Elliot’s star-studded tribute set will include performances from Pharrell, Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Remy Ma, Trina, Eve, Tweet, Monica, Keyshia Cole, Jazmine Sullivan, Raven Symone and Fantasia. Queen Latifah will be honored by performances from Common, Naughty by Nature, Da Brat, MC Lyte, Rah Digga, Suga T, and Yo-Yo. Salt-N-Pepa’s set is slated to include Amber Rose, Keke Palmer, Ashanti, and Dreezy. Last but not least, the Queen B Lil’ Kim’s honorary tribute will boast performances from The LOX, French Montana, Desiigner, Dej Loaf, Teyana Taylor, Rich Homie Quan and Jessica White. In addition to all of the guests, each of the honorary artists will be performing some of their classic cuts on their respective sets as well.

The whole affair will be hosted by Eve, and is sure to include a plethora of special surprises. Bow down and pay homage to the queens who paved the way in hip hop, a male dominated industry.

The VH1 2016 Hip Hop Honors will go live at 9 ET tonight.
