R&B vocals meet experimental electronic production.

You may not be familiar with Sporting Life, but the Harlem-based producer has already had a very successful few years as the beatsmith for NYC’s Ratking, along with Wiki and Hak. A part of the Letter Racer music collective, he dropped the 4 track Slam Dunk Vol. II a couple weeks back.

Sporting Life  has just shared the visuals to one of the standout tracks of the basketball themed release, the Vancouver duo Evy Jane assisted “Court Vision.” Lo-fi nighttime footage and some stylishly rudimentary lush green screen action make up the majority of the video, with Evy Jane’s Jane Mason playing the lead role. Her ethereal vocals compliment the upbeat sonic backdrop perfectly.

The video also humorously pokes at the hype around brand culture and obsession, as an animated three-dimensional synthesis of both the Nike and adidas logos is makes a few appearances. It is highly reminiscent of the way Palace animates their own logo in video content as well.
