If you’re like us, it probably came as a pretty big shock when our pothead pop star friend Miley Cyrus announced that she had quit smoking weed. Miley told Billboard that she decided to get sober in an effort to clear her mind and sharpen her focus. Now, after nine weeks of teetotaling, Miley is still on her tolerance break, but she’s willing to admit that she hasn’t taken ganja out of her life completely.

"I roll them joints.” Miley told the hosts of SiriusXM’s Hits 1 radio about being around her friends that still smoke. “I still roll the joints for them! I just sit there. I roll fat joints, too."

Cyrus originally told Billboard that her newfound sobriety was in part an effort to distance herself from her pothead friends, telling reporters – “I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open. And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be.”

Maybe Miley figured out that stoners actually are the most evolved and open-minded people?

Miley’s new single, “Malibu,” hit airwaves earlier this week, and an album by the same name is expected sometime later this year. Let’s just hope sobriety hasn’t affected her music too much.
