Cannabis and comedy pretty much go hand-in-hand and there's no better way to chill out than getting in a few laughs to lighten up the mood. If you're the sativa type, you may already have an arsenal of strains prepared to induce the giggles, but if you need some help finding the funnier side of life, these films just may do the trick.

Kid Cannabis (2014)

It’s not all fun and games for a high school dropout and his friends, who decide to do something incredibly illegal that involves exporting weed across the Canadian border. Based on a true story, laugh along as things go from silly to serious as the reality catches up with them.

Budz House (2012)

Amateur strain hunters will appreciate this goofy movie about some friends who develop a super strain of marijuana that begins to cause them trouble with local adversaries. If you’re into the movie, try checking out the Behind the Scenes movie with stand-up from comedians like Kevin Hart and Chris Spencer.

Half Baked (1998)

Three dudes are willing to do whatever it takes to get their smoke buddy and childhood best friend out of trouble and come up with a hilarious and lucrative plan to set him free. Complete with communal bong rips and a snack-filled munchies run, this movie is definitely a part of the cannabis film canon.

Dude Where's My Car? (2000)

Follow two best friends as they try to recount their steps from the action-packed night before, where they mysteriously lost track of where they parked their car. Things starts to fall into place as they realize their supposed amnesia is more other-worldly than they imagined.

Cheech and Chong’s Up In Smoke (1978)

Keep it classic with this cult comedy film from one of stoner culture’s most memorable duos, known for their unapologetically high hijinks. Follow them as they travel from Mexico to L.A. in a very special van.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)

For fans of Kevin Smith films and his infamous characters Jay and Silent Bob, this movie will remind you why you fell in love with them in the first place. As they try to stop a Hollywood production about their lives, Jay and Silent Bob find themselves in the middle of many mini-adventures.

Adventureland (2009)

It’s 1987 and a recent college graduate has decided to take a sub-par summer job at an amusement park, after he realizes his dream trip to Europe will cost more than expected. Things start to get interesting once edibles become a part of the plot.

Newlyweeds (2013)

This independent film is equal parts funny and serious, as fun-loving stoner couple Lyle and Nina try to navigate through their relationship as they evaluate their dependence on weed and each other. For these two, it’s not always peace and love when its comes cannabis.

Check back next Friday to see which Smoke, Flicks, and Chill recommendations we give you for the weekend—and life in general.
