The Australian singer-songwriter Sia Furler has been a major force in the electro-pop game for a long time. Beginning her musical career in the ‘90s as an acid jazz musician, Sia soon grew into a solo pop artist with impeccable songwriting skills, one that would end up writing songs for Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Christina Aguilera, and many others.

Although the singer-songwriter been widely respected and recognized in the music industry for awhile now, the singer-songwriter was truly thrust into the international spotlight with her 2014 album 1000 Forms of Fear. Sia gained even more traction with This is Acting, which was released earlier this year and features the chart-topping hit “Cheap Thrills”.

Now, the Australian pop star has teamed up the Compton-based rap king Kendrick Lamar on her newly released track “The Greatest”.

The song kicks off with instant tropical vibes as Sia’s unique vocals float to the top of the equatorial beat. The track is chock full of confidence, with constant reminders that we’re all free to be “the greatest alive” in our own way. About two minutes into the track, Kendrick Lamar's immaculate flow takes over the dance-infused rhythm, and we’re all instantly reminded why he’s the perfect fit for a song entitled “The Greatest”.

Sia also dropped a visual for the song, and although it doesn’t include Kendrick or his verse, the video supplies the song with even more emotion. Taking on the guise of a modern day “Michael Jackson Thriller”-styled video, Sia and her army of zombies rummage through a decrepit building while dancing with synchronicity and shouting the proudly optimistic lyrics. The video was directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, and features longtime collaborator Maddie Ziegler.

You can catch Sia on tour throughout the U.S. from September to November, which will feature the R&B singer Miguel as her opening act.
