Icons Meet as Rick Rubin Interviews Kendrick Lamar for GQ

It’s incredibly rare to catch two industry experts discussing their craft, and even rarer yet for it to be captured on film. However, GQ paired Kendrick Lamar with Rick Rubin for an in-depth interview and it’s filled with the kind of gems you’d expect from the Compton rapper.

As part of Lamar’s GQ Fall cover story, Rubin dove deep into King Kendrick’s creative process and talked about his range of influences. One revelation is that Lamar is a huge Eminem fan and touts him as one of the biggest inspirations when it comes to rap. He also details his affinity for classic soul music, as well as his path to success.
