Looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend while supporting a good cause? G.I. Go is helping our veterans with the Jeans for Troops fundraiser.

Want to participate? Of course you do! The MERRY JANE team is onboard as well!

Here's how it works. Organizations such as businesses, government agencies, and schools register with G.I. Go and then members of that organization donate $5 to dress down on Monday. Easy right?!

G.I. Go is a non-profit 501(c)(3) based in Newark, NJ. Their mission is to provide assistance to all military veterans, focusing on veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, helping them to find employment, secure housing, and take advantage of their educational and health benefits.

“I was a struggling vet when I first got out of college, and I was fortunate to secure this role with GI Go," the Veteran Services Coordinator at G.I. Go told MERRY JANE.

Now, I'm giving back, helping fellow veterans to get ahead by educating them on the benefits available, and how to navigate the system. Our goal is to register over 2,000 organizations this Memorial Day.”

Here's a quick action list to get started. Go to http://GIGoFund.org.

  1. Register your business, school, or agency with G.I. Go.

  2. Let everyone know that you are accepting donations. $5 is recommended, but everything helps. Twenty-five cents will be gladly accepted.

  3. Make your own donation and dress down to support American Veterans.

If you are a solo act and want live like a philanthropist, simply make a donation and then, you can feel good about having a positive impact for our troops.

We wish you a safe, healthy, and happy Memorial Day!
