Talking to your kids about marijuana can be a tricky, that’s why Jim McAlpine a California-based cannabis advocate, is taking matters into his own hands.

McAlpine has made it his life’s work to eradicate the stigma associated with both medicinal and recreational weed.

In our premiere episode of Intimates, a MERRY JANE original series, the father of two opens up about finding an authentic balance between his passion for cannabis and raising his kids.

McAlpine is the creator of the 420 Games, a series of family-friendly fitness events bringing together thousands of cannabis enthusiasts. Through the day-long festivities, which includes a 4.20 mile run (tee hee) McAlpine works to debunk the stereotype of a lazy stoner.

His latest venture, a non-profit organization aimed at educating kids about cannabis, takes his vision one step further.

“Just like Mommy’s coffee, or alcohol, or cigarettes or other things that kids aren’t supposed to do, this curriculum lumps marijuana in along with it,” McAlpine explained.

In his plight to normalize cannabis culture, McAlpine is also teaming up with former NFL-star Ricky Williams to launch the world’s first cannabis-friendly gym, slated to open in San Francisco this fall.

The gym will also be releasing a product line of branded marijuana edibles and concentrates.
