Fred Mortagne turns “mundane landscapes into art" in "Attraper Au Vol."
Published on November 17, 2016

Juxtapoz recently premiered a short film by celebrated skateboard photographer Fred Mortagne. “French Fred,” as he’s widely known, offers viewers an opportunity to tag along as he and Charles Collet shoot for Attraper Au Vol, a retrospective documenting Fred’s work from 2000 to 2015.

The clip opens the aperture on what goes into every shot and moment captured by French Fred. You get a sense of the innate resourcefulness of skaters, how the mundane world and environments they traverse become their proverbial mounds of clay. Marks are left, and artistry goes down in ways that are at times unimaginable.
