They say timing is everything—that applies to big decisions, life plans, and even skateboard tricks and parts. If you’ve never heard of Dominican-born rider Carlo Carezzano, maybe it just wasn’t time to yet.

About six years ago, during an excursion that explored some of Santo Domingo’s skateboarding scene—Carlo was always one of the young skate rats that stood out from the pack. The discipline and heart was clear. Since that time he’s migrated to New York City to write his East Coast skateboarding story and now his new part in Ricardo Napoli’s “Making It Happen” video is a culmination of that effort and perseverance.

According to the filmer, the idea behind the video was to capture the essence of New York City skateboarding as explored by riders visiting or living in the city—showcasing many styles in a short span of time. Carlo just happens to be the first up as the video has officially premiered and parts of the full-length make their way onto the Internet.

Carlo’s part is a firecracker chain of non-stop tricks, way too many to count in just three minutes worth of footage. He holds it down with enough street, ledge, rail, and stair prowess to earn him his keep on your radar permanently. The editing, music, and energy also pay authentic homage to the poetry of the Big Apple.

Congrats to Carlo and respect to an epic ender that I won’t spoil, but does amaze and startle a young bystander. The timing is perfect.

Check it out for yourself.
