With the terrible news that Amoeba Music’s iconic LA flagship store location might be destroyed to potentially make way for a luxury tower in the near future, crate digger patrons of the established boutique need to hear some good news. Thankfully, great things are happening up north at their Berkely location.

Last year, Amoeba announced their plan to convert their jazz room at the Berkeley store into a medical marijuana dispensary, but were unfortunately denied a permit. In a wonderful turn of events, they have just been awarded the permit and will be making the in-store dispensary a reality soon.

Debby Goldsbury, a Berkeley Compassionate Care Center employee enthusiastically confirmed the news on her Facebook page:

We are planning the most epic dispensary ever at the Amoeba location on Telegraph. The dispensary will go where the jazz room is now. My mind is kind of blown right now! #soexcited

With a medical marijuana doctor’s office already on site, in a few months Amoeba in Berkeley could become a one stop shop for both cannabis and record lovers alike. Hopefully it will boost business while branching out their customers' musical horizons at the same time. We couldn't be more jazzed.
