@WhereYouSmoke sprouted in a moment shared between a spliff and the great outdoors. Run by an anonymous artist who grew up in LA, the Instagram account and online platform celebrates cannabis lovers who like to light up alongside Mother Nature.

Each week, we've asked @WhereYouSmoke to share a few favorite Instagram uploads with MERRY JANE, and so far it's been nothing but picturesque snaps and chill-ass stories to boot. For this week's edition of our photo column, we're featuring stoners who like to get lit with their lovers. Before we dive into some interviews, @WhereYouSmoke had this anecdote to share:

So, my boo and I are definitely on different smoking grinds. I've been a daily smoker for about 10 years, and he's much more of the occasional, let's-sit-on-the-sofa-and-laugh-all-night kind of smoker. It's never been an issue, but I always try and get us to smoke together because we have the absolute best time hanging out faded.

One night, he suggested we watch the movie 'Airplane.' Wildly enough, I'd never seen it. We are both big fans of dad jokes, and this movie is essentially just a two-hour long dad joke. Naturally, I set the criteria for indulging in the film: we have to get incredibly zooted before pressing play.

I rolled us up a joint each, and about halfway through our individuals Js, we were already giggling and having the best time. When we'd finished the spliffs, I put the movie on. About 30 seconds into it, we were hysterical. At one point I did a spit-take, leaving a mess of water all over the coffee table, and another scene was so funny (at least in this state) that I collapsed on the floor and literally cried from laughter for a solid ten minutes.

Though we've had some pretty amazing high nights together, this will forever be one of my favorites, simple as it was. We rolled up a few more times as the movie went on, and by the end of the film our stomachs hurt from laughing so hard. Memories like these remind me that sometimes getting faded and just vegging on the couch is its own wonderful experience, nature included or not.

All interviews have been edited for length and clarity.

@WhereYouSmoke: Where was this photo taken?
@syn.sativa:
This picture was taken at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego. There's a little beach past the stairs that lead you to the water below the cliffs. When you're below the cliffs and look up, you notice these holes in the cliffs up at the top. We spotted a few people in some and knew it'd be the perfect place to roll up and sesh. We got to the top and walked along the edges to find an opening in the rocks. Eventually, we found the perfect spot, but it was scary as hell getting to it. It was a perfect day, 78 degrees with a little overcast nice, cool breeze… not too hard to make our backwood run which is always nice.

What's your couple origin story?
We both met working at Walmart over 5 years ago and eventually transitioned to friends. He invited me to sesh after work, and from there we got to know each other more before deciding to become more than friends. Being with him started a whole new lifestyle for me. I ditched Walmart and I've now been medtending ever since.

So, who's the bigger stoner?
I want to say that both of us smoke the same when we sesh together, but he's definitely been getting high longer than I have. When we're alone, that's a different story — he digs into the headstash more haha.

What do you both love about blazing in nature?
When we smoke outside, we usually like to have a good view. We pick up and drive to the beach, park, or hike to our spot. We'll talk about old memories, day dream, or chat about what we both want in the future. Sometimes we find new spots to smoke at later. When we smoke in our room, we usually listen to music and talk about our work day. There's a lot of cuddle time and movies. Or we just bullshit with each other to laugh. It's a lot more lazy when we stay inside. I like when we're more active smokers, that's for sure. Smoking helps me appreciate nature versus the rest of the world. There are no walls and everything's just open. You can forget the world for a while… nature is our escape together.

@sparklingbud420:
The picture was taken after we took a ten-minute walk to the boardwalk near this gazebo. It was such a calm, crisp smelling night. We're always on the go for new adventures to smoke.

What's your favorite time to get lifted with your partner?
My favorite high-time would be a time we've had a few too many bong rips at a friend's house, and we just vegetate on the couch alone, munching on plain biscuits, laughing our asses off at nothing.

Why do you both love getting high outdoors?
We LOVE being high in nature… I am a photographer and jump at any chance for photos. I can always get our smoking pictures done with landscapes and wildlife 🙂 It's always calm and quiet in the places we find. It's a cheap "date."

What's an average sesh like for you guys?
A normal thing for us to do is walk up to our 'Heather Moyse' park, smoke a J, and catch frogs. My boyfriend and I have been together for over 5 years and have only been "stoners" for a year. It honestly does make our relationship much better 🙂

Well, my boyfriend is a glass blower and every year Seattle puts on one of the world's biggest weed festivals! This year was his first year having a spot to post up at and sell his glass, which was really cool. We met up with our friend Joe (@joenuttsglass) before setting up the last day to spark a blunt, and also had a conversation with a really cool gentleman who was enjoying his first time at Hempfest. We ended up smoking him out, too. It was pretty cool. We also ended up bringing a half-ounce joint to the festival and started a nice little sesh in a tent. Hempfest is always full of great vibes, good bud, and amazing companies and people. We blazed and met so many different people that weekend.

What's the first time you and your partner got faded together?
We got high together the first time we met! We met up at a glassblowing school in Seattle and took fat dabs before watching some artists melt, and then headed back to his house so he could teach me how to work glass.

What's some dope stuff y'all have done together after blazing?
We love to go out and find new places to eat. We all know the munchies are real, but I always feel like my taste is amplified after smoking, so we definitely take advantage of that! We've found a few hidden gems in our town. We also like to get really creative in the kitchen at home. The coolest thing we've ever done together stoned would probably be blowing glass… We've definitely had fun getting down on making some art after toking on some more creative strains.

Why do you two love being lit in the great outdoors?
We looooove crazy plants! My partner's mom is a gardener, and she's always getting crazy new plants that she shows us and teaches us about! Sometimes we like to smoke out in her garden just because there's so much to look at and everything smells so intense and good… Especially after learning about different terpene profiles and cannabis and how that translates to the rest of the plant world!
