Scenes from the Emerald Exchange, a Bespoke Stoner Paradise in Malibu

Photographer Molly Adams captures images from the last Emerald Exchange of the pre-legalization era.

The Emerald Exchange is a farmer's market and wellness festival that took place this weekend on a private ranch in Malibu, offering growers from the "Emerald Triangle" of Humboldt, Trinity, and Mendocino counties in upstate California an opportunity to interact face-to-face with the patients they serve, and featured vendors, live music, yoga, and cannabis-infused meals.

With a completely legal––yet highly regulated––marijuana marketplace looming on the horizon, the weekend's event took on an added importance, as legalization brings with it new rules that put the future of the event in uncertain territory. But as photographer Molly Adams's images show, spirits were high at the Emerald Exchange, as festivalgoers took advantage of the fresh air and good vibes to appreciate this event in all its glory.
