18-year-old high school student Brayden Garza was arrested on January 6th on charges of unlawful possession and delivery of marijuana. The teen had been selling pot to other teens via Snapchat, and then posting Instagram pics of himself posing with stacks of cash. Police soon became aware of Garza's illicit activities and were able to obtain a search warrant based on the self-incriminating social media evidence.

According to the Scappoose Police Department, they uncovered "3.5 ounces of marijuana, scales, multiple prescription pills and other controlled substance” when they served the search warrant. Police also arrested 35-year-old Adrian Barrera-Mesinas at the same time, and have charged him with unlawful possession of methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence.

Both men were taken to Columbia County jail, but Garza is already out and back to posting on social media. All of the incriminating posts have been deleted, and hopefully the young man has learned an important lesson regarding social media and criminal behavior...
