A freak incident left one man dead next to white van that was chock-full of $12 millions worth of marijuana.

According to Gwinnett County Police, who had found the man slumped over near the white van and tractor-trailer around 11AM when they noticed the strong odor of marijuana leaking out of the van while waiting for a medical examiner to arrive to the head-scratching scene.

According to the officers, there’s no foul play suspected, instead, they believe that the man, who police identified as 31-year-old Johnny Taylor of Bridgeport, Connecticut, had died from natural causes.

Once the deceased man was removed from the area, the officers began an inventory of the van, which is when they found a box containing sealed bags of marijuana. This led them to search the nearby tractor-trailer, which also contained similar boxes packed with more cannabis. All in all, the marijuana seized from both the van and tractor-trailer had a total estimated value of $12 million.

Suspiciously enough, security footage showed a different man dropping off the tractor-trailer the night before, around 9:30 PM on Sunday. Shortly after the man made the drop-off, Taylor pulled up in the white van. This man, who has not been identified due to the on-going investigation, was interviewed by police, but was not arrested. The Gwinnett County Police are still working to figure out whether the tractor-trailer was empty or not when it was originally dropped off by this man.

Police apprehended the suspect when he returned to the parking lot on Monday, while police were still conducting the investigation, which is when they decided to interview him.

But, according to the man in question, he had returned because Taylor had asked him for lessons on how to properly drive the big rig. As of now, police believe that Taylor was playing a minor role in a larger marijuana transportation plan.
