The cannabis-focused venture capital firm is hosting a pitch event during MJBizCon on November 15th, and is inviting both startups and investors.
“We’re interested in finding the best and brightest entrepreneurs in cannabis,” said Karan Wadhera, managing partner at Casa Verde. “Given the convergence of investors and industry professionals at MJBizCon, I think this will be a really well curated event.”
MERRY JANE asked Mr. Wadhera a few questions about Casa Verde and how applicants should prepare their pitch packages.
MERRY JANE: What kind of ideas and startups is Casa Verde Capital looking to invest in currently?
Karan Wadhera: When making early stage investments, the most important factor under consideration is the team. As such, we're looking to invest in great entrepreneurs.
What are some of Casa Verde's portfolio companies that you’re most excited about?
Some of our portfolio companies that will be attending and we're excited about are Green Bits, LeafLink, and Trellis. Each of these companies has become the industry gold standard for their domain, be it POS (point-of-sale), marketplace, or seed-to-sale tracking.
How should startups best prepare to present their idea to Casa Verde Capital?
In order to best prepare, we encourage startups to have a strong grasp of their metrics, along with a comprehensive view of the competition. Also, have a lot of enthusiasm!
