Chromatics Drop Black And White Visuals For “I Can Never Be Myself When You’re Around”

Is "Dear Tommy" finally on the way?

The saga of Chromatics’ eagerly anticipated and long delayed Dear Tommy, which was originally slated for release in February 2015, continues. Having shared the dark-disco vibed video for the title track “Dear Tommy” at the end of last month, they have released yet another new video. This time it's for “I Can Never Be Myself When You’re Around,” a track originally released in March of 2015.

Shot entirely in black and white and directed/edited by the band, the video is a visual treat. Using split screens (sometimes diagonally slanted) it shows the band performing the song, at times obscured behind a veil of shimmering tinsel. Ruth Radelet looks radiant per usual, as she and bandmates Johnny Jewel, Adam Miller and Nat Walker are all introduced by name in the credits.

While there is still no hint at a release date for Dear Tommy, the video description shows an unamended tracklist from the original. The green apples shown at the end of the credits could hint at it coming out shortly, as it is in all likelihood the cover art.

Watch “I Can Never Be Myself When You’re Around” here. Dear Tommy will be out via Italians Do It Better hopefully sooner rather than later.
