Miley Cyrus Finally Revealed Her Reason for Quitting Weed

The pop-star was pretty sure that she would be the world’s first cannabis casualty.

If you’ve heard Miley Cyrus’ name in the past couple months, it might have been because she’s got a new album coming out later this year, or because the pop-star is once again engaged to her previously-estranged boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, but most likely, it’s because Hannah Montana can’t stop talking about how she stopped smoking weed.

In an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” this week, Cyrus reaffirmed her teetotaling tendencies and delved deeper into the circumstances that influenced the cold-turkey change.

“I kept having this nightmare - I had a dream that I would die during my monologue on ‘SNL’ for some reason, that I would just get so stoned that I just died,” Cyrus told Fallon. “I Googled and that’s never happened … no one’s ever died from weed, but no one’s ever smoked as much as I did.”

And while we’ve got a friend from Long Beach who would probably object to Miley’s super-stoner claims, there’s no denying that ganja can cause certain people intense anxiety. So while there was literally zero chance that Miley was going to die from taking one too many tokes, she’s definitely not the first stoner to take a tolerance break to quell unnecessary nerves.

Saturday Night LIve-themed night terrors aren’t the only reason Miley put down the pipe, though. The Disney star turned pop chameleon also told Fallon that getting stoned was making her pets too cute to resist.

“I just want to sit at home and eat when I’m stoned and play with my dogs and the cat and the pig,” Cyrus said. “I was spending way too much time with the pig when I was stoned and not enough time actually doing anything.”

To be fair, if we had a pet pig in the office, we probably wouldn’t get any work done either - stoned or not.
