In 2016, G Perico blessed the hip-hop world with Shit Don't Stop, a standout among many projects that dropped last year. Now, the South Central, Los Angeles rapper is kicking off 2017 with some new music in the form of his "G-Style" series over tracks by Tha Dogg Pound and Silkk The Shocker.

Perico took on Silkk The Shocker's classic joint "It Ain't My Fault," then transitioned into Tha Dogg Pound's Above The Rim OST banger "Big Pimpin'." What makes G Perico's take on both of the tracks unique is his nasal-yet-entrancing voice. On first listen, his voice is reminiscent of DJ Quik, but the rapper swiftly falls into his own groove and cadence, separating him from the celebrated West Coast icon and forging his own unique path.

What also makes these jawns work is the eerily perfect fit of his voice over the production. In the video for his version of "Big Pimpin’” we see Perico sporting the colors of the set he reps, which happen to be the very same as the big homie Snoop.

Watch "Ain't My Fault/Big Pimpin" here, and make sure you give Shit Don't Stop a listen as well.
